Welcome to Cannabushee
Why this site exists, who it's for, and what you'll find here.

Most of what’s online about growing cannabis is written for indoor growers in California, Oregon, or Colorado. That’s not us. Illinois has a short season, heavy clay soil, thunderstorms that show up without warning in July, and a legal framework that’s specific to registered medical patients. The playbook is different here.
I started Cannabushee to share what I’ve learned growing outside in northern Illinois for over a decade — and to help people who are trying to do it themselves.
Who this is for
- Registered Illinois medical cannabis patients
- Home growers who want to move outside after a few indoor runs
- First-time growers who’d rather start with help than a costly mistake
What you’ll find here
Short, practical posts on things that actually matter outdoors:
- Season planning — working backwards from first frost
- Soil — amendments, cover crops, what to do about clay
- Strain selection — what actually finishes before October
- Pests — spider mites, caterpillars, and the stuff that shows up at mid-flower
- Harvest — reading trichomes, drying in humidity
If you want help applying any of this to your own grow, book a consultation. Otherwise, stick around and read.
Grow it outside.
